Rosenfeld’s Bagels: Get ‘Em While They’re Hot
Rosenfeld’s is a Newton institution. For more than 40 years, this Jewish-style bakery has been churning out bagels, challah, and more from it’s tiny store front on the lower level of Newton Centre’s iconic Picadilly Square building. Their blueberry bagels run out fast, so get there early, and don’t forget their homemade cream cheese.

The Deluxe Station Diner is its current resident, and provides for commuters on their way into, and out of, the city. With decor that harkens back to the building’s Industrial Revolution roots, you can start your day with a coffee and a Breakfast Burrito, or cap it off on the way home with a Crabcake Dinner and a draft beer.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the sign, as the restaurant itself is down a tiny alley off of Union. While they are known for their patio seating during the summer, you can enjoy their authentic cuisine and drinks year-round. While its name is “Noodle House,” this little shop offers so much more, including classic appetizers like crab rangoon and scallion pankcakes; rice dishes, congee (rice porridge), and laksa (coconut milk and curry soup). Seating is limited, so your best bet is calling ahead for pick-up or delivery. Cold bubble tea makes for a great desert.
